Joe Marty’s Bar and Grille: A Local Watering Hole Launched by a Baseball Pro
February 16, 2016 | western
In 1938, Joe Marty was a household name around Sacramento. At the time, he was a pro baseball player who was well-known in the area. His legacy (and name) lives on today at Joe Marty's Bar and Grille, a sports bar dedicated to local baseball history and good, old-fashioned bar food.
The bar recently reopened at a new location, but it offers the same sports fan-friendly atmosphere, frosty beers, and fresh American comfort food. Kick off your feast with some Sriracha-lime wings and house-made ranch dressing, or the popular, perfectly crispy sweet potato tots. Just make sure you save enough room for the iconic 1938 pulled pork sandwich, which features pork shoulder slow-smoked in-house and crowned with a sweet-spicy apple and jalapeno slaw, plus just a touch of spicy vinegar. Complement your meal with something from the full bar, and watch the game on one of Joe Marty's TVs.
