Chefs Get Creative with Your Chicken at Fire Wings
April 12, 2016 | western
When a quick-serve chicken wing joint accrues more than 80 gushing reviews in less than two months, you can assume that its chefs are doing something special. That's the case for Sacramento's Fire Wings, which quite literally caught fire in its first few weeks in business.
So don't be fooled by the eatery's stainless steel service counter or short, simple menu displayed right above it. The chefs are serious about their chicken wings. You have a smorgasbord of flavors to pick from, packed into three distinct categories: Asian, hot, and rubs. Under the Asian section of the menu, you'll see favorites such as the Korean Kick and Saigon Street (both of which could fit under the hot category, too). When it comes to the spicy styles of wings, Original Buffalo lands on the milder side, whereas the namesake Fire Wing packs a lot of heat. In the rubs category, there are options like Jamaican Jerk, garlic parmesan, and the Cali rub. Order single wings to eat right in the dining room, or take home a smorgasbord of 20, 40, 60, 80, or even 100.
